How to Cancel a Policy in the Thimble Broker Portal

You can cancel a policy for your client directly within the Thimble Broker Portal:

  1. Navigate to Policies: Find your client’s active policy in the “Policies” section of the portal, then click on “Manage Policy.”

  2. Initiate the Cancellation: Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on “Want to cancel your policy?”

  3. Complete the Process: Follow the prompts to view the refund amount and confirm the card or bank account where the refund will be sent. You’ll also be asked to provide a reason for the cancellation.

Important Notes:

  • Back-Dated and Future-Dated Cancellations: Requests for cancellations with backdated or future-dated effective dates require a Lost Policy Release (LPR) signed by the client. Backdated requests are subject to review and approval.
  • Same-Day Cancellations: You can cancel a policy effective today directly through the portal. However, any backdated or future-dated requests must be submitted to our Broker Success team with a signed LPR.

Once a cancellation is submitted, it cannot be undone. Inform your client to allow 5-10 business days for the refund to be processed and posted to their account.Cancel-Policy.png
